So Many Tools So Little Time

As I was browsing through my library magazines, I noticed short notes written in pencil, ideas on post-notes, and pieces of paper with half-baked ideas. And of course this was amongs the to do lists, and projects sitting on my desk.

"Don't touch the desk! I know where everything is!" I think. The amount of paper used is probably enough to save a small forest. I really need to go paperless.

So in my first attempt to do this I am beginning my blog. As mentioned above this blog is to organize my personal research...If there is something here you can use...be my guest. I've probably borrowed it from somewhere else. (I've heard that this blog could also be an evaluation tool as well--this will definitely be a first for my principal.

The research topics have included (but not limited to) Web 2.0 tools. Wow has this research mushroomed over the past few months. I have things all over my desk on this topics as well as an unformed del.icio.us bookmark.

Other topics in this blog will be those things that I need for the research skills that I will be teaching this coming year...An independent study class called (drum roll please) Learning in Action. I'm also tweaking those other skills that librarians need to have.

I guess my first tool is the blog.

Being a librarian I hope to have a couple of blogs available for my students (Need to have sample for principal, see if students have access, and do current policies allow this...I have asked to join the district technology committee. Hopefully this will answer some of those above questions)

Blogs for Before or After School Clubs: (need net etiquette statements for students and group lessons about using blogs for positive learning experiences.)

Writing Blog for Author's Pen
Reading Blog for students to comment on books they have read.

Blog for my own Personal Learning (Here it is!) to also be used in conjunction with an e-porfolio.
